Step 2: Perform the installation

Once all preparations have been completed, you can proceed to installation.

The current setup of migRaven you can request here.

Now do the migRavenInstall_ (version number) .msi file.

This does not start the installation directly but unpacks the actual installer. It will be on the desktop a new icon with the name migRaveninstall generated.

The opening of migRaveninstall now starts the actual installation process.

Here you will again be shown the requirements for the installation

click on installto start the process.

Query for the database service

After the installation of the database, DB Service asks for an account. This manages the database service and can be changed later, if necessary.

Enter a corresponding service account or an account with at least local administrator rights as well as the corresponding password.

Example: test domain \ Administrator

As soon as the data has been entered put the process with you Next continued.

Query the license

Enter the license key and the corresponding e-mail address here and click on Next Step to continue.

If you do not have a license, you can over request Apply for an 21-day trial license.

The automatic license application requires an internet connection

Do you have no internet access or does the license to a proxy fail?

  • Send us an Email:
  • Write down the required data here too: first name, name, email address.
  • We will send you the testkey and a config file.
  • Please save the config file under "Program Data / migraven / config".
Installation of the web interface

Last install over migRavenWeb the Web client, which will later be used to handle essential parts of data management.

Start the installation Install.

In the event that no IIS is already installed on your system, you can install the migRavenWeb through Next skip. (is not recommended)

Once the installation is complete you can use the installer Close shut down.

Set up and start the web client

The migRaven.24 / 7 web interface was created as an IIS page during installation. To start these, open the first one Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

The IIS Administration Console we did during the Preparation eingerichtet.

You will find the migRaven Website under Sites listed.

Start the page with a click on starten.

Open the settings for the authentication with a double click.

At this point, only the Windows Authentication be active. Go here by right-clicking on the Advanced Settings.

Remove Add the hook here Enable kernel-mode authentication.

The migRaven Website you can now via the URL http://fqdn to reach. In my example, then http://vm-2012.test.local .

The logged in Windows account determines the assigned role within the web client and compares this with the stored accounts in the account management.

This works by default for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Edge.

Firefox browser

For security reasons, the automatic authentication on the Intranet, ie on the own domain on the own Windows servers, does not happen automatically in Firefox, in contrast to other Web browsers.
This NTLM and Kerberos authentication must first be activated in Firefox.

The example for the domain "test.local" requires the following steps:

  1. In Firefox, enter "about: config" (without spaces) in the address bar.
  2. Search for the following four parameters and enter the specified values, instead of "test.local" your domain.
network.negotiate-auth.allow-non-fqdntrue (most important entry)

network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris test.local

network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris test.local

The next step is about the first start and the initial configuration.
