This function is exclusively through the migRaven support or migRaven Enterprise Partner put into operation.

general description

migRaven offers a connection to external Identity Access Management (IAM) systems via the console application DBInterface. She will with that migRaven Setup and is located in the application directory of the migRavenDBServiceHosts. The DBInterface console application can be automated in conjunction with Windows task management and run at times that you determine.

When the interface is an advantage

The interface to external IAM systems makes sense if

if an external system is in use
so that the systems can control each other
if an existing authorization management system is to be retained, but with migRaven.24/7 more transparency, perspective and security on the file server is sought
if "only" the Data Retention function of migRaven.24/7 is used to automatically free the file server from obsolete data

Data owner import and export

It can migRaven Data owners with their directory paths are exported to a csv file for further processing, or Active Directory accounts with their UNC path information and a comment to the migRaven database are imported. Several data owners can be imported per path. The data owner import is the master, existing data owners are "reset".

The data owner export can be restricted to individual projects.

Data retention import

Regular data retention can be stored in the database via a csv list specifying UNC paths and the associated data owner accounts. These must have the migRaven be activated on the website and can be further adjusted there if necessary. Existing data retention will not be overwritten.

Common Features

All import and export functions are extensively documented in text files in the event of success or failure.
The import and export paths can be freely selected as UNC paths.
The column separators of the csv files can be selected.
The csv files must be saved in utf-8 format (because of umlauts).
Each import csv file starts with a line containing the headings.
The functions of the DBInterface.exe are completely controlled via parameters that are specified when the exe is called.
The application must remain in the installation directory and requires a special one for security reasons migRaven accounts. You can ask our support for more details.
