Introduction
The “Purge” or “Merge” option determines how migRaven.one handles data migration with existing data in a target folder.
Purge (clean)
Use this option if you want to transfer data to a completely empty folder or replace existing files in the destination with more recent versions. "Purge" ensures that all files in the destination directory that are no longer present in the source directory are deleted. The destination directory will then be an exact copy (mirror image) of the source directory.
Important for concurrent tasks: Running multiple purge migrations concurrently to the same destination folder can result in data loss. Each migration may overwrite files just created by another task. Therefore, you should never run multiple purge jobs concurrently to the same destination.
Merge
Select "Merge" if you want to add new files to an existing folder without deleting existing data. Existing files will be retained, and new files will be added. If files have the same name, they will not be overwritten. Such cases are documented. migRaven.one automatically in a report. The affected files remain in the source directory and can be easily reviewed and edited later. migRaven.one then displays a warning about this order.
