RN version 6.9.2120x.1

Published: KW 21.2021

Rich clients:

New:

  • Planned file server scans:
It is now possible to have the file server scan carried out automatically every day at a configurable time. The time is configured in coordinated universal time (UTC). Note the actual time displayed in the local time zone after the setting is saved. (3625)
  • Role Designer:
It is now possible to control who can see the "File owner" and "Permissions" tabs in the directory tree. There are two new entries in the role designer for this, which can be activated or deactivated for all roles. This allows security concerns to be addressed. The entries are:
    • "Show file owner in the directory tree"
    • "Show directory permissions in the directory tree"

Both entries are standard for migRaven Administrators and data owners activated. (3861)

Web client:

New:

  • Scenario analyzes: There is a new page for evaluating recurring questions. The first two analyzes available are:
    • All directories on which directory owners are configured
    • All directories on which a task is configured

The analyzes can be found in the navigation under “Resource Analysis” and then “Scenario Analysis”.

This new page is in the delivery status migRaven Administrators available, but can be activated for all other roles in the role designer. (3206)

  • 3D data heatmap: There is a new analysis to identify directory levels that contain a lot of obsolete data. The analysis shows the optimization potential in the directory structure and can be found in the navigation under “Resource Analysis” and then under “3D Data Heatmap”. (3485)
  • Explanatory text: There is a new page for configuring an explanatory text, the migRaven Users, for example, instructions on how to use migRaven or to deal with file server resources. An explanatory text is supplied, which is dated from migRaven Administrator can be completely customized in German and English. The configuration of the text can be found in the navigation under "Configuration" and then under "Explanatory text". The users can view the stored text by clicking on the "?" Icon at the top right next to the language selection. (3734)

changes:

  • Task monitoring: Task monitoring has been renamed to System Monitoring. (3671)
  • Initial state: The initial state has been renamed the directory tree. (3415)
  • Directory tree: Accounts authorized for directories that are deactivated are displayed in the directory tree with a gray icon. (3415)
  • Folder Self-Service: The behavior when assigning authorizations has been changed. So far, the NTFS authorization "Change Plus" was automatically assigned for each configured data owner. This automatic system has been canceled so that the data owner and the "Change Plus" rights can be configured independently of one another. (3482)
  • Message center: The list of notifications for reports is now sorted chronologically, with the latest report at the top. In addition, the message center can be closed with the same button (bell symbol) that was used to open it. (3021)
  • Partial rescans: After a one-time data storage or a directory creation, only the relevant directories are read in again, not the complete directory tree. This means that the orders can be processed much faster.
    (2411)
  • Directory notes -> flexible task management for directories:
The notes that can be configured on directories have been fundamentally revised. (3498)
    • The name was changed from Note to Task.
    • The sidebar has been expanded and reflects a project-driven approach. For example, you can define a status or a planned processing date for the directory and your documentation during a migration project, for example, directly in migRaven deposit.
    • The button for deleting a task has been removed. This enables complete tracking of tasks.
    • The task overview in the directory tree has been adjusted to reflect the changes.
    • There is a detailed history of changes to a task.
  • Email templates:
Email templates sent by migRaven Administrator are no longer overwritten during an upgrade. For that you have to migRaven Server under "C: \ Program Files \migRavenDBServiceHost \ Resources \ "the directory" CustomMailTemplates "can be created. The customized e-mail templates are stored in this directory (the file names must not be changed!). If the directory does not exist or there are no files in it, the standard templates will continue to be used. (3608)
  • Start page:
The structure of the start page has been changed. (3738)
    • The "Directory name" column is no longer displayed by default, but can be displayed.
    • The age diagram is set to "Number" by default, no longer to "Size".
    • The “Reports” column has been renamed to “Go to” and contains an additional button that the user can use to open the directory tree for the corresponding path.
  • .mig.Raven system files:
The hardening of the ACL of the .mig.Raven files has been removed. The files now inherit the permissions of the directory in which they are created. This guarantees problem-free further processing (eg moving) of the directories in which .mig.Raven files are located. (3755)

Fixed bugs:

  • Folder self-service:
The internal processing sequence of the workflows for the folder self-service has been changed to ensure a more stable run of the workflows. (3653)
  • Data retention configuration:
Fixed a bug where the save button was activated unnecessarily. (2638)
  • Message Center:
Fixed a bug that prevented notifications from being cleared. (3802)
  • Task overview in the directory tree:
Fixed a bug that caused data owners to see tasks that were configured outside of their area of responsibility. (3842)
  • Directory tree:
Fixed a bug that caused the sorting of the directories in the directory tree to not work correctly. (3275)
  • Start page:
Fixed a bug that ensured that directories on the start page for data owner were not locked for changes if other processes (data retention or folder self-service) were running on them. The blocking for editing the directories prevents inconsistent states in the migRaven Database and in the file system. (3844)
  • Folder self-service:
Improvements and bug fixes in the processing of the internal workflows so that a more stable function is guaranteed: (3688)
    • Installation of a retry functionality for partial rescans.
    • Completion of a workflow with the status "DoneWithWarning" if an e-mail notification could not be sent. Up to now it could happen that the workflow was not completed if mails could not be sent.
  • Folder self-service:
Fixed a bug that made it possible to create directories with a terminating "." (Period). As a result, these directories could not be used in the operating system. Closing points are now removed without replacement when the directory is generated. (3199)

Known issues:

  • Obsolete data analysis:
Obsolete data analysis can display incorrect data if there is a symlink in the project directory (3202)
  • No distinction is made between the data statuses in the productive directory area and the data in the archive area. This may lead to inaccurate evaluations of the data age.
  • Web client:
The pinned navigation menu overlays the content of the page (3201)
  • Data retention:
If a directory should be deleted according to the "archiving job" and there is a "thumbs.db" file in the relevant directory, the relevant directory may not be deleted. This is always the case when the thumbs.db is blocked by a process.
  • Data retention:
It is possible that the corresponding directory is not deleted when the DR workflow is carried out, although the option has been selected.
Workaround: After archiving, delete the directory directly via the desktop client.
  • Data retention:
Under certain circumstances it can happen that the directories cannot be created successfully when creating the directories or when setting the ACL in the archive target because the executing account lacks authorizations. In this case, please manually make the account with which the Resource Scan Service runs as a member of the local group of backup operators on the file server. (3365)
  • HTTPS binding in IIS configuration:
When updating to a newer version, a second HTTPS binding is entered in the IIS. As a result, the website cannot start.
Solution: Remove the HTTPS binding without a certificate in the IIS configuration.
