Web Client

New

New start page when opening the web client
When opening the web client, the start page has changed. Task management is now displayed to the user as the start page so that pending tasks are more visible to the user. In the standard, this applies to the migRaven administrators and data owners too. In the Role Designer, other roles can also have task management displayed as their start page. The previous start page, the view of the imported directories, can be found second in the navigation.

Separation of active and archived projects within the migRaven Database
The migRaven Database now outputs active and archived data separately. The separate display of active and archived data brings essential advantages for the user and the analyzes carried out. In the case of analyses, changes and distribution can be recorded much better using configured data retention workflows.
In the overview of the imported directories (navigation point Home), the archive areas are also displayed individually if data retention is configured:

FS Scan: Improvements in stability and consistency in the file server scan (5364)
Of particular importance is in migRaven the traceability of structural changes. The directory name and location are often affected by changes. The file server scan has been optimized in terms of stability and consistency. It will:

  • recognized renamed directories on the same volume,
  • moved directories on the same volume are recognized and
  • in migRaven managed folders are reliably identified when they are moved to other SDD and the Directory ID and Volume Serial change as a result.

New page for displaying license and usage data (4352)
It is the "Licensing" navigation point for the migRaven Administrators added. The overview visible there compares the AD personal accounts that are authorized according to the purchased license with those that have registered in the last 90 days and were therefore active. Exchange mailbox accounts are not considered. The data is based on the license file and the last migRaven AD scans collected.

Task management: Data owners of directories can be contacted directly from the task management via mail. (5043)
In task management, reminder emails can be sent to the data owner for one or more tasks. The corresponding tasks can be selected via a checkbox in the first column of the table. An e-mail is sent for each data owner with all paths (directories) that have been checked and for which this user is the data owner. (Read more)

Analysis: New filter in "NTFS file owner analysis" (formerly "Data usage by departments") (5078)
A new filter has been added to the Analysis of NTFS File Owners analysis page. This allows users to decisively influence the results of the search. For example, the user can explicitly exclude orphaned or deactivated accounts from the search. All filter criteria can be seen in the screenshot below: (Read more)

amendments

Data retention management: "Copy path to clipboard" gives a confirmation (4696)
When you click on the "Copy" button, a message appears as a tool tip that the path has been copied.

Task management: Adjustments to the table in the task scenario (5051)
There are various layout adjustments to the table in task management. The changes concern, for example, the status column, the task characteristics or the date columns. (More on this)

Analysis: New name "NTFS File Ownership Analysis" (formerly "Departmental Data Usage") (5078)
The name of the Analysis page (in Web Client and Role Designer) has been changed from "Department Data Usage" to "NTFS File Ownership Analysis". (Read more)

RAM usage: Reduced RAM memory usage during resource scans and optimized, parallel CSV writing speed (5300)

Directory tree: New layout and minor improvements to detail information about a directory (5251, 5252, 5253, 5254)
The detailed information on a directory appears in the new layout in the directory tree. This affects all tabs, namely permissions, age information, file types and file owners. In the Permissions tab, the "Inherited/Explicit" button for filtering inherited/explicit permissions has been added.

Another improvement in usability is that the user accounts are displayed as a chip. With mouse-over, the AD attributes for the user accounts are loaded and displayed as a tool tip for the user. (More on this.)

Fixed bugs

  • Data retention: Directories are moved to the archive in case there are orphaned ACE/SID in the ACL. Only the rights that can also be canceled are transferred. If there are no more explicit rights, then the right is not exchanged but transferred without explicit rights. This applies to the directory itself, as well as to the permissions that may be set on subdirectories. (4838)
  • Storage of statistical data of deleted projects: With each complete scan of a file server project, all essential statistical data is collected and saved. This enables the long-term evaluation of the data volumes and changes. Now the data of projects that have already been deleted will continue to be retained. This means that the evaluation can also be carried out downstream. (5208)
  • Tokencount Cypher Query: Active Directory Token Count calculation has been accelerated by 200%. This mainly affects active directories with more than 50.000 accounts. (5167)
  • account report: A column heading was corrected in the Excel export of the account report. (4656)
  • account report: Search now allows finding explicit permissions of built-in accounts such as "Everyone" or "Authenticated Users"(5405)
  • ACL view: There was a conversion of the counter for the authorized users in relation to the rights. This applies to both direct and indirect counters: Number under the "Number" column heading. Previously, the authorization paths were counted here. Now the effective, uniquely authorized user accounts are counted.(4464)

Known bugs

  • Home page: The directory overview is still listed in the web client with the name "Home" as the page title and navigation point, although this page is no longer the start page in the web client.
