In the file type configuration you can view the categorization of the file types and, if desired, assign the file types to other / new categories. This affects in particular the File Type Analysis .
You can find the file type configuration in the Configuration area:
You can see all available categories in a table. Clicking on the arrow shows which file types are assigned to a category.
Create new category for file extension
You can create new categories. To do this, click on “+Create category”.
A sidebar opens in which the following input fields must be filled out:
- Category name in German and English
- Description of the category in German and English
By clicking on "Save" you can assign the desired file types to the newly created category in the next step.
Assign file types to a different category
File types can be assigned to another category in two different ways.
Move button for individual file extensions
If you click on the move button in the last column of a file extension's row, you can move this file extension to another existing category.
Now you can move .wmdb file extension to another category with one click; in the example we use the category "Temporary and backup files".
Checkbox + button "Move selected file extensions" to move one or more file extensions
You can also move one or more file extensions to another category using the checkboxes. To do this, click on the checkboxes for the file types and then click on the "Move selected file extensions" button.
Now you can assign the three exemplary file extensions .wmdb, .m4a and .wma to another category with one click.
